All RTX3090s that are affected by Amazon’s New World will be replaced by EVGA
EVGA confirmed the RTX 3090s that had been affected within the New World closed beta would be replaced.
EVGA has confirmed that it will replace each of its Geforce RTX 3090 graphics cards affected by the closed beta of Amazon’s New World MMO. According to a spokesperson from PC Gamer, “Yes, every failed 3090 are being replaced.” Many players who took part in the closed beta of the game complain about their graphics cards getting broken, EVGA RTX 3090 cards specifically.
While the exact issue wasn’t identified at the time, Amazon came out and stated that there was nothing to do between the graphics card issue as well as the New World closed beta. Amazon declared that thousands of participants participated in the New World Closed Beta yesterday with millions of hours of playing. They also received complaints of New World players experiencing hardware problems while playing.
Further, the statement stated that New World uses standard DirectX calls offered by Windows API. The statement also stated that there are no problems with the EVGA RTX3090s during closed beta testingor during the long period of alpha testing.
Amazon announced an update that addresses concerns that players might have, despite claiming there were no issues with the game. Amazon confirmed that the New World Closed Beta was safe to play. “To further reassure players, I’m implementing a patch today which caps frames per second in my menu screen. We are grateful for the support New World receives from players from all over the world. We will continue to monitor their comments throughout Beta and beyond.
For those experiencing issues, Amazon further added, “We believe this has to do to the driver settings and frame rate limiters, Nvidia RTX 3090 series, and 100% GPU use.” Players were then advised to turn off the overrides in the settings for the driver and cap the maximum FPS at 60 in order to fix the issue.
New World was initially scheduled to begin its launch in the month of August, 2020. Butit was delayed numerous times. The latest delay has seen the launch date moved back to August 31 in order to make substantial improvements. “We’ve been working in the development of compelling features that we think are essential to have during the launch. They won’t be in place in time for Spring, but we had discussed,” said the dev team.
